THE DRIP

THE DRIP

While at a retreat for a few days before the setup of my upcoming exhibition ABSTRACTA, away from my studio and unable to paint, I start to think about the drip while watching the rain fall helping plants grow painting the planet with amazing colors, while also causing disasters when there are floods and draughts, depending on the season. At the same time my hands start dancing as if painting on air and I start thinking about my drip and how it flows from my hands to create a painting with myriads of colors. I can then move the paint to create paths to navigate through my ideas with colors and shapes that are each their own and at the same time they are my vision splashed in my painting. The drip then becomes a web, like a fishing net, catching colors here and there, covering them or letting them glow, while becoming my painting.
