Rags on my paintings

Rags on my paintings

Raw canvas torn into strips gessoed down on a new painting are like roads for my brush to follow. The addition or incorporation of fiber to my work comes naturally as I have previously worked with ropes and cords when doing macramé, back in the seventies. Now fiber adds a certain dimension to my work as each new layer of fiber, be it fabric or rope, is perceived as closer to the viewer's eye. Such is a solitary rope.

I painted Rags for an upcoming exhibition and is part of my fiber series Tribal Call.
